Hackett's campaign bolstered

Republican congressional hopeful Chris Hackett quickly made an ally out of a former opponent.

Paul Swiderski did not file the necessary nominating petitions to be on the ballot and withdrew from the race for the Republican nomination in the 10th District. The 33-year-old accountant from Exeter Township quickly threw his support to Hackett, instead of the other Republicans in the race - Dan Meuser and Davis Haire.

The winner of the Republican nomination in the April primary is expected to square off against U.S. Rep. Chris Carney, D-Dimock Township, who is unopposed.
