Carney Votes For Higher Taxes Again

Chris Carney votes against making the marriage relief and child tax credits permanent

Dallas, PA – Rep. Chris Carney voted against permanent tax relief for the hardworking families of Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania today. Carney voted with Nancy Pelosi and the liberal Democrats to kill a motion that would have made the child tax credit and marriage penalty relief permanent. (House Roll Call 83)

"Higher taxes are not the answer to our economic problems, but Chris Carney, sadly, is beholden to the liberal Democrats in Congress who always want more of our money. We need to keep taxes low and making marriage relief and the child tax credits permanent is a necessary step in the right direction," noted conservative Republican Congressional Candidate Chris Hackett. "What we need to do is leave more money in the pockets of taxpayers, but clearly Chris Carney doesn't trust taxpayers with their own money – we deserve better," continued Hackett.
