Chris Hackett: Carney Should Join Obama and Hillary in Opposing Earmarks
The same day that Carney launches defense of indefensible earmarking process,
Obama and Clinton sign onto anti-earmarks amendment
DALLAS, PA – Chris Carney today defended the indefensible earmarking process, and yet, even his party's Presidential nominees are supporting an amendment to put a moratorium on earmarks.
"I find it disheartening that a man who ran on representing our values would be so ingrained in Washington values that he can't see the simple truth that even his party's presidential nominees see," stated conservative Republican congressional candidate Chris Hackett, "Chris Carney needs to join the fight to end earmarks."
An Associated Press story from today noted, "Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday joined Republican presidential candidate John McCain and a small band of GOP senators in making a run this week against the billions of dollars in home-state pet projects Congress funds each year."
"Chris Carney is a roadblock to real reform in Washington, and his $5,000 per plate Charlie Rangel fundraiser this Thursday proves he is just another politician looking to buy votes with taxpayer dollars," noted Mark Harris, Hackett campaign spokesman.
