Overflow Crowd Attends Hackett Grassroots Fundraiser
With over one hundred and twenty people in attendance,
Chris Hackett points out need for real spending reform in Washington
Dallas, PA – Conservative Republican Chris Hackett, candidate for Congress in the 10th Congressional District, hosted a grassroots fundraiser at Grotto's Pizza at Harveys Lake last night. The overflow crowd forced the restaurant to open up the doors to another room to accommodate the capacity crowd.
"The status quo in Washington is bankrupting our country. We need someone who has the political courage to fight to end the corrupt system of wasteful spending. Chris Carney is on the wrong side of this issue, standing with the politicians not the people," said Chris Hackett, "I have signed the Citizens Against Government Waste pledge to fight the wasteful earmark system. We can't win this fight inside the system. I will be a congressman who will bring the fight to Congress and let them know we, the people, won't stand for this any longer."
The Hackett grassroots event was held to coincide with a Chris Carney event in Washington hosted by liberal New York Congressman Charlie Rangel and asking for $5,000 per person. Last year, Rep. Carney voted in favor of spending $2 million a building in Harlem named after Congressman Rangel. Congressman Rangel's PACs have donated $16,000 to Chris Carney's campaign.
