Quit Monkeying Around: Time For Carney To Get Serious About America's Problems
While Chris Carney voted to spend $5 million dollars yesterday on monkeys,
gas prices continued to rise
Dallas, PA - Yesterday, Chris Carney voted to spend $5 million dollars to prevent the interstate sale of monkeys, but he failed to do anything to stop the rising price of gas or fix the long-term solvency of Social Security (Roll Call 414, 6/17/2008). That's not a joke. It really happened. With gas prices at $4.05 at local gas stations, Chris Carney spent his time yesterday worrying about the sale of monkeys.
"Chris Carney and the Washington politicians are completely out of touch with the American people. While Carney spends his time, and our tax dollars, on monkeys, he opposes the common sense solutions we need to address our energy crisis. We need a congressman who will fight to expand our domestic oil supplies, and who will oppose wasteful spending. Clearly, Chris Carney is not that congressman," said congressional candidate Chris Hackett.
"It's fine that Chris Carney has taken a keen interest in protecting monkeys from interstate trading. We just wish he was more concerned about the economic health of our country. He ran on bringing 10th District values to Washington, but instead he's been more of the same: a big tax, big spending politician, who yesterday accomplished more for monkeys than for taxpayers."
