PA-10 Congressional Candidate Chris Hackett Airs First Ads Of Campaign

Radio Ads to Outline Hackett's Conservative Agenda,
Beginning with Cutting Wasteful Washington Spending

Dallas -- Chris Hackett, a conservative Republican looking to replace Congressman Chris Carney next year, announced that he is taking to the radio this week to let voters know his agenda.

Hackett said, "I've been traveling all over the 10th Congressional District for 8 months getting to know what's on the minds of the hardworking people of Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. Now I want to give the voters a chance to get to know me." As Hackett states in his first radio ad, "People often ask me, 'Why would you want to run for congress when Washington is such a mess?' I tell them that's exactly why I'm running. When I see a problem, I try to fix it, and Washington needs some serious fixing."

These initial ads also touch on Hackett's personal background, having been raised in a working class Pennsylvania family, and later becoming a financial expert and successful small business owner, creating hundreds of jobs in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. The radio ads will run across the District starting Monday.

In the first ad, Hackett talks about his economic plan to make the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts permanent and end the death tax forever, allowing farmers and families to pass on what they have worked so hard for. He also will eliminate outrageous pork spending by forcing the career politicians to hold an up or down vote on every wasteful project.

Hackett concluded, "If Congress operated like families and small businesses have to, then we wouldn't be in this mess. It's time we made Washington accountable to the taxpayers."

Future ads will address other important topics facing the people of the 10th Congressional District.
