Hackett Calls on Carney to Sign Pledge To Increase Domestic Production

With rising gas prices, Carney must put 10th District voters in front of liberal special interests

Dallas, PA – Chris Hackett signed Georgia Congressman Lynn Westmoreland’s bi-partisan “American Energy Pledge” today and called on his Democratic opponent to do the same. The pledge calls for bringing online onshore and deepwater drilling as well as new refinery capacity. It has been signed by a bi-partisan list of 175 Congressional members.

“The Washington politicians have been blocking a commonsense energy policy that increased domestic production for too long. By signing this pledge, I promise to the citizens of the 10th that they can count on me to push for increased production across the board. Congress and Chris Carney have failed to lead so we the citizens need to take charge and push for real change in Washington,” said congressional candidate Chris Hackett.

“Chris Carney has a choice. He can support three commonsense solutions that will increase domestic energy or he can stand with the radical special interests in his own party against the citizens of Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. So far he’s shown that he cares more about politics than relief at the pump,” said campaign spokesman Mark Harris.
