Carney False Advertising Continues

Another day, two more false television ads

Dallas, PA - Today, Chris Carney’s campaign released two new television ads highlighting the myth of campaign Carney versus the reality of Washington Carney. The ads continue to hide Carney’s liberal voting record that puts special interest groups before the people of the 10th District.

Campaign Carney: We need real tax cuts for the middle class not for millionaires.

Washington Carney: Stood with the liberals by increasing taxes on working Pennsylvania families

Supported a $3,000 per family tax increase for Pennsylvania families (Roll Call 382)
Supported keeping the death tax (Roll Call 959)
Supported keeping the marriage penalty tax (Roll Call 83)
Supported, on his first day in office, legislation that made raising taxes easier (Roll Call 4)

Campaign Carney: I’ve promised to fight for families and that’s what I’ve done

Washington Carney: Supported budgets and tax hikes that even fellow Democrats said were bad for working families.

Democratic Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL): “I can’t support a budget, from either party, that raises taxes on the middle class. This bill hurts families … by eliminating the 10-percent bracket for lower-income taxpayers, reinstating the marriage penalty and increasing taxes on small businesses and investments.” (Foster Press Release, 6/5/08)

Democratic Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-AZ): “‘I have serious concerns and cannot support a budget that allows key tax cuts to expire,’ said Mitchell.” (Mitchell Press Release, 6/5/08)
